Yay, a new design! Both my blog and my nails are brand new! I worked on this new header design all day long... If I had hundreds of readers, I would just make a "create a header for Naekubi"-contest. I have 66 readers only, so I did it myself.  *wipes her forehead* Hope you like it! (If you don't, well...)

Here's my nail art from last week. I got this idea from the beauty board at Beautyjunkies.de. Somebody posted some nail art with polka dots made from crackling nail polish, which is an awesome idea!

The nail polishes I used:

• P2 Hypoallergen + Quick Dry Base Coat
• Essence Copper Rulez! (magnetic polish, but I put it more because of the colour)
• P2 Golden Rush
• Essence BTGN topsealer

This nail art is really super easy to do and I like this look - as you can see, the crackling polish crackles from the centre of the dot. It almost looks like a star...

Until next time :)

I love autumn! Autumn is my favourite season. The colours, the smell, the light, the fresh air. Crispy yellow and red leaves on the pavement that sound like potato chips when you walk on them... mmmhhh...

It's like a feast for the eyes before winter. Nature creates warm and rich colours that are just very inspiring.

So here we have my "Welcome autumn!" manicure. It was also partly inspired by this key chain in the picture that my little brother gave me as a souvenir from his visit in Madrid, Spain. A friend of mine noticed that this manicure looked a bit like the windows of a church. I can see the similarity, yup.

Let's move on to the polishes I used:

• P2 Hypoallergen + Quick Dry Base Coat
• Essence Gold Rush (gold beige)
• Essence 50s Girls Reloaded LE You're a Heartbreaker(blue)
• Essence Wake Up! (red)
• P2 Your wild side LE vibrant green (dark green)
• Essence Natventurista LE Barefoot through the Moss (light green)
• Rival de Loop no name (dark brown)
• Essence Sun Club LE BBC Golden Sands (golden brown)
• Essence BTGN topsealer

*phew* *wipes her forehead* I hope I didn't forget any polish. This is a free hand manicure by the way. I tried it with scotch tape first but with five different colours on each nail it would have taken forever.

Thanks for stopping by and see you soon!

Hey there! Just a quick post. This was last week's manicure. It's quite simple - purple and... *drums* a crackle polish! I never used one before but I like this one.

As always, you can click on the pictures to enlarge them. I highly recommend this, otherwise you won't notice the subtle red and blue sparkles.

Just look! :)

And now the polishes I used:

• P2 Hypoallergen Base Coat
• Catrice Times Square at Midnight
• P2 Pearl Crackling Topcoat Violet Fusion
• Essence BTGN topsealer

The crackling nail polish looks less purple than in the bottle, but I still find it nice.

Until next time!

Hi everyone! The weather is crap at the moment. Constantly going up and down. So does my blood circulation. I'm not the "yay! sunshine!!" kinda type, but warmer sunnier days and more stable weather would be nice nevertheless. In order to fight the grey mood I'm sporting some ombre nails now.

Ombre nails are the kind of manicure anyone can do (I call it "nail art for dummies"). Just like skittles manicures, you only need different colours and an eye for nice colour combinations. With ombre manis it's even easier, a gradation of one colour will do.

The colours remind me of ripe fruit like peaches, cherries and blackberries. Hmm... =)~~ *drooling*

So... the polishes I used, from darkest to lightest colour:

P2 Hypoallergen + Quick Dry Base Coat
P2 140 Diva
Rival de Loop 20
Nivea 43 Cherry Glaze (it's actually more pink than on the pictures... think crystallised cherries)
Essence Denim Wanted! 01 High Waist Pink (also this one is more neon in real life)
Eyeko Nude Polish, Catrice Biscuits and Cupcakes on top of it
Essence Better Than Gel Nails topsealer

By the way, this is my new umbrella. It's pink with dots! It's somewhat sad though that I have to use it so often at the moment.

Anyways, I hope you guys will have a nice weekend. :) See ya!

Hello everybody :) I finally did my own nails in a way I would actually want to present it to you. Since I started working on monday I didn't have the time I needed to be really creative. Also the weather in Munich was so weird. We had a lot of thunderstorms and the air was so moist that I got tons of bubbles on my nails right after applying the very first coat of polish... (high humidity can cause bubbling...) :-/

This week I'm sporting an ombre manicure in curry colours. Ombre manicures are quite easy to do: Just choose polishes that describe some kind of colour gradation and put one colour on one nail. In the right order it becomes a gradation :) Of course I spiced it up a little and used four colours on my thumb and added some rhinestones in more or less matching colours.

Here's what I used:

• P2 Base + Care Coat
• Essence Color and Go in Gold Rush (beige gold)
• P2 Sun City Ocean Drive (curry)
• Catrice Caramé Spiced Bronze (bronze, who would have guessed...)
• Essence Bondi Beach BBC Golden Sands
• different rhinestones from T€di and Kik
• Manhattan Topcoat / Essence Better than Gel Nails Topsealer (this one's highly recommended, dries quite fast and gives a glossy, almost jelly-like finish)

I decided that I will do about two manicures a week, a simple one on tuesdays/wednesdays and a more creative one on sundays. If they get posted... we'll see...

Until then have a good time!

Yay, time for a new manicure! I hope that I will have some time to paint my nails in the future because I will start working soon... it's going to be in an editorial department of a web enterprise. So basically writing articles and doing social media. :)

This time I decided for a combination of green and blue: Funky French tips with a special ringfinger. See those cool flakies on the ringfinger? This was an awesome find at a Müller drugstore. It was the only bottle I could find and cost me 80 cents only. That's quite cheap for an Nfu.Oh-like effect, right? Finding exceptional polishes always gets me so excited!

Here's what I used for my manicure:

• P2 Base + Care Coat
• P2 Sun Love LE - summer cocktail (this green is gorgeous, this is one coat)
• Modelité HD Blue (for the tips and two coats for the ringfinger)
• Sinful Colors Nail Junkie (nice green and gold glitter)
• Glam Nails 90 Larissa (one coat of glorious holographic flakies on the ringfinger... an awesome find at the Müller drugstore - for 80 cents only!)
• Manhattan Topcoat

I painted the tips free hand because I wanted it to be quick. I know that it would have looked way more accurate if I had used scotch tape but I was just too lazy for that...

Until next time!

Sorry guys for this unusually open-hearted confession. ^^

Here's the list of polishes I used on my sister's nails:
P2 Base + Care Coat
H&M Going bananas (yellow, of course, and, of course, awful to apply)
MNY 409A (thin, thin, thin icy blue)
Eyeko Lilac Polish (nice creamy violet/lilac colour)
Essence Quick Dry Drops, topcoat

Thanks Bill! Hope to get to know you this summer!

And to my currently 40 readers (hooray!): See you next time!

It's truely been a while... My cuticles still look bad, but my nails recovered enough to slap some polish on them. Hooray!
For everyone who hasn't noticed yet (or doesn't live in the northern hemisphere): it's spring! This calls for fresh colours...

The green mint polish doesn't show too well on the pictures. Actually it's a bit more on the green side. Also, I had some bubbling issues, that seem severe in the photos but not so much in reality.

The golden polish is just awesome. It creates some rainbow effects in sunlight and gives this manicure the little blingy extra I was craving for.

I used the following colours:
P2 Base + Care Coat
Artdeco Ultra Quick Dry No. 90 (light green/turquoise/mint creme)
Best Sence Nail Polish No. 52 (golden glitter)
P2 Color Victim Gigantic (electric blue)

By the way, I noticed that smellwise, nail polishes fall into three different categories: There are the old polishes that just smell like toluene and formaldehyde (category 1, gives me headaches), the ones that are b3-free or b4-free (no formalydehyde, no toluene, no phtalates, sometimes no formaldehyde resin - smell bearable) and then the ones I like to call "bio hazard!"-polishes. Unfortunately, the great golden polish is a category 3 polish.

Most of the ones in category 3 stem from shady sources like French 2-euro stores, China or a cosmetics shelf next to the cashier at C&A. They smell extremely like industrial varnish used for cars or model aeroplanes, but given the available ingredients lists they don't contain that much stuff that would differ greatly from category 2. But I might be wrong.

Anywho: Any chemists out there who could help me out?

Until next time!

• Dark red: P2 Diva
• Green: P2 Vibrant Green (LE, matte green with golden shimmer)

• White: err, dunno, some old white
• Manhatta ProShine topcoat

daylight

As you can see, the design is not all that neutral. Combined with the other colours it has more of the forest/autumn vibe. I might even start to like taupe...

Hey everyone! I have another Chinese New Year manicure for you :)

crappy winter daylight

I didn't win the other nail art contest (well, tough competition. Some had the incredible advantage of owning konad plates... kidding), but I like creative contests, so I'll try my luck in my private jet's make-up contest. If you understand German, go check out her blog. I've been a reader for about a year now and haven't regretted that ever since.

So, enough with the praise. Back to business: The task is to create a make-up or nail design with your Chinese horoscope sign. My sign is the bull/cow/buffalo, so I kinda cut a cow into pieces and painted it on my nails.* You can win five nail polishes from the OPI Hongkong collection.

picture taken with flash

Here's what I used:

• P2 Base + Care Coat (yeah, I know, I use that every time, but as I like to say: never change a winning team)
• P2 147 perfectly (I thought it was a light brown. I forgot that my skintone is a tad bit darker than the average European's, so this turns out to be the perfect nude polish for me)
• French tips: Chifure Nail Enamel (red with gold glitter, Japanese brand), Catrice Spiced Bronze (bronze, great for my skintone)
• cow pieces: Essence 22 fatal
• Essence Quick Dry Drops (I like those - cheap and easy to handle)
• Manhattan Pro Shine Quick Dry topcoat

*No animal was harmed or killed in the process.

After all that glitter, the gold and the incredible sparkling I was craving for something fresh and rather simple. So I came up with this manicure. I call it the "pajama design". I'm thinking of blue pants combined with a striped shirt for bedtime. Feels nice and cuddly...

I used the following polishes:
P2 Base + Care Coat
P2 unforgettable (it's actually more turquoise than blue)
Eyeko Vintage Polish (it's actually more jade green than light blue, it's quite sheer)
Essence Quick Dry Drops
Depend Top Coat

I painted the stripes free handed with a brush.

By the way, my nails are shorter now. When you can't put your contact lenses neither in nor out for the love of god, it's about time...

Blue is one of my favourite colours. So today's manicure is all in blue. Again I used dots as decoration. They are easy to do (with a toothpick or a dotting tool) on the one hand, and they are very versatile on the other hand.

Actually I wanted to paint all my nails like my two thumbs but I didn't have that much time (difficult exam ahead of me). Yet, the nails are shining nicely. :)

I know that the nail polish addicts are divided into two groups: Those who adore nail design and those who despise it. I'm in the first group, who would have guessed. Since my nails are the only bling-bling in my outfit I think that this is still ok and not tacky.

I used the following polishes:

• P2 Base + Care Coat
• Eyeko Rain Polish (index finger)
• P2 triple power nailpolish 091 (middle finger)
• P2 color victim dangerous (ring finger)
• Essence nail art twins bonnie (pinkie)
• on top of that: Manhattan Aqua Pearls 114
• dots: Manhattan super quick dry 80
• quick-drying topcoat

See you on my blog again soon!

Lang ists her.

• Essence Pool Party (blau)
• Eyeko Nude Polish (nude)
• Nail Color Nail Nail (mintgrün)

It's been a while. At the moment I am a bit stressed (uni, exams, Christmas, you name it), so this is why my little nail beauty salon is a bit quiet. Nevertheless I'm posting a new manicure for my loyal readers...
It is quite a lazy-ass mani since I lack some time.
Warning: Please don't pay attention to my extremely wrinkly fingers. This cold weather combined with cycling makes all my hand care procedures futile.

I used:

• Essence Pool Party (blue)
• Eyeko Nude Polish (nude)
• Nail Color Nail Nail (minty green)
