Hey there! Just a quick post. This was last week's manicure. It's quite simple - purple and... *drums* a crackle polish! I never used one before but I like this one.


As always, you can click on the pictures to enlarge them. I highly recommend this, otherwise you won't notice the subtle red and blue sparkles.

• P2 Hypoallergen Base Coat
• Catrice Times Square at Midnight
• P2 Pearl Crackling Topcoat Violet Fusion
• Essence BTGN topsealer

The crackling nail polish looks less purple than in the bottle, but I still find it nice.

Hello everybody :) I finally did my own nails in a way I would actually want to present it to you. Since I started working on monday I didn't have the time I needed to be really creative. Also the weather in Munich was so weird. We had a lot of thunderstorms and the air was so moist that I got tons of bubbles on my nails right after applying the very first coat of polish... (high humidity can cause bubbling...) :-/


This week I'm sporting an ombre manicure in curry colours. Ombre manicures are quite easy to do: Just choose polishes that describe some kind of colour gradation and put one colour on one nail. In the right order it becomes a gradation :) Of course I spiced it up a little and used four colours on my thumb and added some rhinestones in more or less matching colours.


Here's what I used:

• P2 Base + Care Coat
• Essence Color and Go in Gold Rush (beige gold)
• P2 Sun City Ocean Drive (curry)
• Catrice Caramé Spiced Bronze (bronze, who would have guessed...)
• Essence Bondi Beach BBC Golden Sands
• different rhinestones from T€di and Kik
• Manhattan Topcoat / Essence Better than Gel Nails Topsealer (this one's highly recommended, dries quite fast and gives a glossy, almost jelly-like finish) 

 

I decided that I will do about two manicures a week, a simple one on tuesdays/wednesdays and a more creative one on sundays. If they get posted... we'll see...

Hi guys, it's been a while :)


Lately I wasn't very lucky with neither nail polish nor designs. It seems like my Manhattan topcoat is getting a bit old because it causes severe bubbling and doesn't dry as fast as it used to. You will notice bubbles on my index finger. And my ringfinger had an unfortunate encounter with my bedlinen... *sighs*

My love for nail polish has some downsides: I own so many bottles now that I try out a new one almost every time I do a manicure. Even an experienced nail polish applier like me has some unpredictable issues with some polishes sometimes. Some formulas are extremely gloopy or incredibly thin, become streaky, take forever to dry or they are downright unusable...


Well, let's move on to the list of nail polishes used this this manicure:

• P2 Base + Care Coat (I need a new basecoat as well, I think. Preferably a quick drying one.)
• China Glaze Midnight Kiss (nice gold...)
• Catrice Spiced Bronze (looks great on tanned skin with yellow undertone)
• Essence Copper Rulez! for the lines (I know it's a magnetic polish so this effect has gone to waste a bit.)
• flower shaped rhinestones from T€di (a 1-euro shop, which is the German equivalent to dollar shops I guess)
• Manhattan topcoat

I can't leave without posting one manicure before for you guys :) So since I'm going to travel to China I thought of putting a very feminine (some would say tacky) and Asian inspired manicure. Maybe some of you know the very extreme Japanese nail art designs with a gazillion beads, lace and more. Like here: CLICK


It also looks a bit like traditional prints for kimono or ao dai (the classic Vietnamese apparel).
Of course it's pink (goes without saying) and very sparkly. The light pink was a pain in the ass. Since I knew it was thin as water I put a layer of plain white under it. Still it needed two coats... And the glitter polish... it's made in China and despite its beauty (like the hexagonal glitter chunks), it stinks like hell and it is quite thick.
